For one reason or another, I hadn't been showing this beast enough love. When money got tight, I even, briefly, considered selling it. There were a couple of things that just weren't working for me.
1) I was using MKS GR-9 pedals, and the straps kept rubbing on the cranks, which I didn't like
2) I realised risers are for chumps not for me
3) The headset, which I'd had a bit of a problem with before, had worked itself loose.
Last week, I decided to actually get off my arse and do something about it.
Enter Dammit:
Maximilian (bars), Clara (lever) and Condor (stem):
and a big spanner for the headset, and I have a bike I'm back in love with:
Unfortunately, I put a big scratch/small gouge in the bars fitting the stem, despite being assured they were the same size, and prising open the stem a bit. I am also out for a silver TT lever rather than a crosstop for braking I'm a bit happier with at speed. Then, obviously, I'll tape the bars.
