I can't quite relate your reply to the advice i gave, but glad i seem to have helped.
ooh! you're saying you had the opposite problem to Hugo7; you had trailing spokes on one side and leading spokes on the other seemingly too short, and you fixed it by moving all nds spokes along one (hub?) hole? I hadn't considered that possibility.
