If you had a few hundred quid spare, what frame would you look for?
In no particular order (but with the Condor being top of the list):
Condor Pista
Specialised Langster (obvs not for +£200 but if I wanted something cheaper)
Surly Steamroller
2nd hand old fashioned steel track frame for £100-150 + 1" carbon forks
Nelson pista
I think the simplest starting place is whether you want something that; a) feels and looks "fast", b) is comfortable and practical, or c) is looks classic. Frames will cross over and vary between all of those, but I think once you know which box you fall into, it becomes easier.
