If it's an old style BB, I reckon you could remove the fixed cup and crank from the NDS, then unscrew the drive side part of the BB and take the whole lot out on the drive side without removing the drive side crank from the spindle. You'd have to buy pretty much a whole new BB (£20 max for the tester approved Shimano BB-UN55) though.
