Yeah I understand. I realise it was a silly question.

It sounds like something has been stripped or damaged, OR the pitches don't match. Does the bolt thread in o.k from the other side of the hanger?

This will probably rule some things out for you regarding pitch.

I took an 8 speed chorus mech off on tuesday, then tried putting an 8 speed athena on today. The threads MUST be the same on the mounting bolts. So either I've stripped/damaged the threads today, or somthing else.
