  • ^^New tyres, new tape, new saddle!

    Love the colour :)

  • If you want to slave it up, you need to go all out with the black components. You've already got the stem sorted, so carry on from there!

    That paintwork is lovely!

  • Just finished building this little minx...

  • love it

  • Very nice. What's the gear ratio, that chainring looks huge?

  • Very nice. What's the gear ratio, that chainring looks huge?

59x24. I've had this setup on a few different bikes so far, just think it looks rad, and is still only around 65"

  • Even more rad with a smaller cog ;-) Still looks great though.

    What's next?

  • rear cog is huge @,@

  • That ratio makes the chainstays look even shorter than they are!

    Terrifying front clearance

Big gearing is back! how did you managed with chainstay clearance?

I only got a punty 56t TA one, bit worried that a 64t TA would not clear the chainstay.

Was that a custom Woodrup? loved how it look almost like a Keirin bike with a touch of the classic British path racer lugs.

  • Picked this up on a whim yesterday. Mid nineties alu track bike. Need to figure out what to do with it now though. Could put nicer period parts on it or go the slave route.

Love the oversized look and the paintjob has a fade of two shades of yellow with some pearl effect added. Quite fancy.

carbon fork and change the consumables (seat/tyres/tape) for black.

  • Just finished building this little minx...

Frame separated at birth? just missing the world champ stripe...

    1. they're both purple
    2. the hubs are the same

    3. nothing else
  • Only potential problem I can see, is that you won't like it... None of the components nor frame would be my first choice, but that's just me. I see no reason why this shouldn't end up an awesome build.

Out of interest, what would be your first choice?

I feel they are all parts i could trust, feel good and will look good, thought about it a lot

  • carbon fork and change the consumables (seat/tyres/tape) for black.

Yeah, been trying in photoshop and this looks best indeed. Going through my partsbin tonight :)

In the meantime I've found out it's the same frame builder as the Rafty MTB's (fairly obscure Dutch brand)

  • Better cranks is the only thing I'd suggest. Proper 144 BCD jobs. For what the RD2 costs you're better off with the On-One external bearing track cranks.

I already own some RD2's you see, quite happy with them, i could always upgrade them later, also believe i can find a better chain ring in 144bcd?

  • Think you'd be better off with the On-One external, they're going cheap right now.

Oh, then use the ones you have, for sure. I thought you meant you were going to buy a new set.

You will find better track chainrings in 144BCD (S75, Zen, Goldtec, etc.), but it's a question of monies, of course.

  • Its going to be the nicest and most expensive bike i will own so far, so i'm just happy i'm able to afford it with the parts i chosen.

Yep, custom built by Kevin Sayles at Woodrup. Got him to cut out an FB in the downtube lug, for Fitzrovia Bicycles. Very silly.

  • Pic or it didn't happen.

  • Hand cut FB.

Kevin Sayles' specific 'S' in a heart emblem.

Maurice Woodrup headbadge; an optional but well worthwhile extra. Lovely.

  • Fuck me, that is beautiful.

  • That just fucking amazing, I'm surprised you didn't get into a giggly heap after looking at it.

  • Yep, it's pretty special. So much so that on its maiden voyage last night I was absolutely terrified in case I crashed it. I'll get used to it tho I'm sure.
