  • Or maybe Der Arss Savers? this video test is definitely "one for the ladies" and of 4500 viewers 5 liked itASS SAVER im Test - YouTube

  • I think your current modification work because of the price + functionality.

The "Ass Saver" probably would work, but it's barely long enough to cover the spray and it's being quite high up doesn't help either.

    Very expensive when something like this work a lots better for a quid or two more;

  • Ed trouble is with those ones they don't stop the crap coming forward onto the lower 2/3 of the seatpost, just wanted to say once again your flickr stuff was excellent by the way

  • finally got my SKS Chromoplastics fitted to my pompetamine. What an absolutely excruciating experience - never again. Hope they are worth it!

If you think that shit is as good as some propperly fitted mudguards you are insane.

  • confirmed

  • Ok, so I'm using Raceblades on my Dolan Track Champion. What's the best way to cover area between seattube and rear (brake) bridge? Some DIY ideas please but opened to buying something too.

had a look at your pic. V nice! try a ghetto rear guard you'll like it! your brake calliper will still cop a lot of crap but the seatpost and you won't

I got a lot of flak on here for the shitty plastic zip ons but mate I don't care, they work, having said that my bikes ugly and yours ain't
but also having said that... if the Dolan was mine I'd rather not have any proper mudguards as in my opinion any guards would spoil the lines anyway, so would use ghetto style then bin 'em in spring

    Thanks.
At first I thought about those Full Windsor FoldNfix. But now I don't really know.
I just need proper shape for ghetto.

  • Full Windsor FoldNfix look much better
but the bit that protects the seat post with them is really of no use anyway its the lower 2/3 that gets it

get a piece of corrogated plastic cut a 60-80mm strip long enough to reach the back of the wheel , fold down the middle lengthways, zip tie on and enjoy a dry ass! (the front one works well also) then immeadiatey place in green bin in springtime

  • Today the wind blew so strong on New Kent Road that it snapped the front (the part in front of the forks) off my sks chromoplastics clean off. Heard a snap but didnt think much of it then when I got to the lights I looked down and it was gone!. #csb

Think SKS would give me a new one? I know its hard to prove its anyones fault but I've only had them around a month.

  • Whoa!

And yeah worth a try :)

  • You've damaged it previously.

  • Don't think SKS will cover global warming.

  • You've damaged it previously.

A few people have reported chromoplastics failing around the fittings under the fork and seatstays, possible due to cracking caused by vibration. I think you'd need a starter crack though, either due to a knock or over-tightening.

  • Yeah they all fail, but if within a month, I blame the user or defects.
Badly installed, there will be stresses that can cause cracks and failure.

  • Does anybody know what these mudguards are on this Donhou Rapha Continental?

Seems they were available at the London Bike show for £35, but can't make out anything else.

  • Curana I believe (you might need to check that spelling).

  • Spelling is correct: Curana!

They look about right too. Thank you!

  • Right, alternatives to Curana C-Lite 30mm mudguards?

  • SKS? The Curana don't seem to have much coverage (i.e. they are short and not very deep) and I can't see a breakaway fitting on the front, so for half the price SKS stay out front.
These http://www.tredz.co.uk/.Blackburn-Cloudburst-Full-Cover-Mudguard-Set_55838.htm seem OK, but I haven't used any yet

  • SKS Longboard would be the best choice, especially in keeping your component clean.

  • Nope, neither of those are passing the "do they look good" test.
