Does anyone have any good info on London based used/vintage camera repairs?
Still suffering from bad camera shop experience..
My Ricoh GR1s shutter isn't working. I had the same problem half a year ago..
I took it to Sendean Cameras in soho.. I was charged £150 quid for a 'full service' without being told what the original fault was and what specific repair work was carried out. I found their setup slightly shady as they send the cameras to another location for inspection. As a result of this you can't actually talk to the mechanic who worked on your camera. I was just given the 'it needed a service' line.
The service came with a 3 month guarantee and 4 1/2 months later I'm having the same problem. It's starting to make the camera financially unsustainable.
Interestingly, a friend of mine who also had a Ricoh Gr1 but with a different problem received identical service and the same invoice to match. ..
any help v.much appreciated..
