  • Would that have a negative effect on the Frame afterwards... just wondering if heating metal to the point of burning paint will make it brittle.... excuse my lack of knowledge in alchemy

It's a 4130 chromoly frame, it's not a fancy heat-treated Reynolds. Probably internally overbuilt enough not to need heat treatment.

  • I think it's too big to fit all the way in.

    har har

  • Canyon looks great man.

The classic steel roadie now totally obselete?

Merckx? Frame is going on the wall :)

  • My pompino has had a bit of a makeover...

Used to look like this (but much rustier as of late):

    Now looks like:

The paint is more purple/violet in real life. Next on the list is a nice set of cranks and new BB. Can't decide what to go for crank wise though...

    The best kind of art.

  • saddle angle :-o

  • The best kind of art.

    Yeah :)

  • Believe it or not saddle angle hasnt changed between the two... must be the angle of the pic i think

  • Very nice pomp.

Is there any reason to change the crankset? They work imo; classic but utilitarian.

  • Sneak preview. New Enigma Esprit mocked up & coming soon.

    nnnnnnnggg

    can not wait

I can see it's the same - it provokes a :-0 on both!

  • Mmmmm, that Enigma's looking promising, very nice indeed.

after eons of searching, finally, full tri color gruppo

Nice, what's that little haul going on?

Managed to push on my Colnago after finally tracking down an affordable stem. Plenty of shite weather, long evenings and lack of funds to distract me. Seemed the perfect time to strip it down, touch up the paintwork and rebuild with a few parts I've been hoarding. Still some final bits and bobs to sort, but so far...

  • ^ Looking very nice indeed

  • B - you 100% have too many nice bikes. :'(

Especially to be kept so far away!

  • tiny!

  • Nice, but lift the bars a little bit (or is that the photo angle).

  • looks fine to me. Nice flat transition from tops to hoods

I believe the method imma try is chemical stripper and wire brush what i can and re clear the exposed area possibly after a stencil job under the down tube... who knows?

    She's a Rider nahhh

  • looks fine to me. Nice flat transition from tops to hoods

Yeah looks fine, just looks weird because SRAM shifters always have the annoying lump of the shifter on the bars

  • Too impatient to really polish these up...

Brooks saddle is usually required to be at that angle, so the sitbones area is flat due to the hammock nature of the leather.

  • Very nice pomp.

The bb is close to death and the cranks restrict me to only one kind of bb which has quite a poor reputation

  • tiny!

    Helpful.

  • How toight is this?
