  • yeah also had same issue and took me a while to figure out why phone wasn't showing up

    +1 file transfer

  • They used to before until Google made it super difficult. My home desktop runs XP so I can't access my N4. I use my work laptop if I need to.

  • Yeah, it was fine using an android phone with a mac until they started using mtp. Was a bit of a pain at first when I got my nexus, but now I use google music instead of double twist and drive if I ever need to get files onto my phone.

  • I like AirDroid as a way to move files from computer to Android devices over a WiFi network.

  • So impressed with this.

Have started looking at flats, so thought I'd have a go at making a google map to keep track of them. Never done this before, but I've managed to put a marker for each one, added a thumbnail image which links directly to rightmove/estate agent's website or whatever.

Go to google maps on the nexus, my places, recent, and my map of properties is right there. Pictures, working links and everything. Amazing!

This phone looks amazing! Sony Xperia Z.

    1080P
    HDR Video.
    Water resistant.
    Dragon Tail Glass LOL.

  • Loving the N4... Amazing...

  • xperia Z looks lovely, an antidote to bubbly samsung ugliness.

  • that looks awesome. I'm sold.

  • can't take seriously. too many horses running through the sunset.

  • Does it have Sony's poxy OS on it? If so.. not interested. Sense is still the only skin over stock I'd use.

  • Iz android and waterproof. I haz ordered N4 from the playstore, finally made the move and joined the dark side.

  • The 4oD app is finally on Google Play!

(I spent most of last night watching the first series of Spaced on the N7! ^-^ )

  • ^ this has made me very happy.

  • noice

  • Just wondering, is anyone with a nexus 7 having trouble with Google play today? Its working fine on my n4 but won't open on my n7. Or could anyone suggest what might be wrong.

  • Opens fine on my N7. Seems a bit slow updating things, but works fine. Have you tried turning it off/on again?

  • That's the first thing I done. I'll try and get hold of Google and see if there is anything they can do. Cheers.

  • I think I'll need to adjust my phone tariff. I was curious about data usage, after a day of using Google Music on the go. On average I seem to use 2 - 10mb a day, and about 300mb a month. On Tuesday, after several hours of Google Music I'd used 260mb!

I'll be looking for an unlimited plan as soon as I can change my Three contract.

  • So, I called Google play and they were very helpful and talked me through what I had to do to fix it and now it works! hadn't turned it off and on properly.

  • Good news!

Has anyone else had the issue with wireless dropping on a Nexus 7 and then re-connecting? Internet suggests it's due to lease time on DHCP.

  • @jimbob0ll0x.
    *cough*casecough!!

  • I've had trouble with the internet dropping on my n7, but if seems to have sorted itself out over the past week.

  • Anyone had problems syncing contacts?

Managed to get them all into my google contacts on the PC, but on the N4 I get a message saying "Sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly". Considering it's been like that for 24 hours despite restarts, I'm not sure I trust their definition of 'soon'.

Am I not turning it off and on again properly? Who'd have thought IT could be this complicated?

I'm just coming to terms with the impact of using Google Music on data usage :-) If my calculations are correct then it will take a little over 7 hours of continuous play to use up 1GB of data....

(That assumes that you are listening to music with a constant bit-rate of 320 kbit/s. I don't know how Google Music adjusts bit-rate for the bandwidth that it actually finds to be available.)
