  • As far as I can tell, the problem lies specifically with an AirZip plugin required for ePen which will only work with a specific (and apparently not the most recent) version of Java. I might be doing something wrong (standard excuse from retired metalwork teacher) but I can't get it to download in XP mode either. The release notes are quite specific about IE7 or IE8(32bit) but definitely not IE8(64bit) or IE9.

    The older (32bit XP) machine seems to work adequately once Norton has been emasculated - at the moment we're not using it for anything online other than the single site for marking - but I'm more looking for a solution that will allow XP to run antivirus software and still be useable. Norton 360 isn't that solution: the IT people at work suggested Avast as an alternative, but I am sceptical about the accuracy of online reviews - then your post of yesterday caught my eye...
