  • can i play 24bit 96k wav files on itunes?

i want to buy the new MBV album but need to check what format is useable

  • Mac Pro users/potential buyers take note:
from March 1st they ain't bringing anymore into the EU

Hell of a way to clear inventory before launching a new Mac Pro design this year - or they might just cut the pros loose and say forget it.

I wanted to know the same thing, and answer was inconclusive so went for MP3

MBV it doesn't really matter, all sounds like it was recorded next door anyway!

  • i went for the high bit rate, it worked fine

  • oh iTunes. I wanted to know if worked on iPod nano

  • A colleague mentioned he was running a freeware equivalent of VMware Fusion/Parallels, but I'm getting an out of office reply from his email.

Does anyone on here have any suggestions or recommendations?

  • Awesome, that's the one he suggested. I call that a consensus :-)

  • Looking for a fine tip pen to use on the iPad - anything you guys would recommend? It's for note taking and annotating PDF files.

  • I have an Adonit Jot which works really well.

  • fuckfuckfuckfuck dropped my ipad.
anyone know a good place in London to get the screen replaced?
these guys repaired my iphone, did a good job.

  • not cheap. i looked at this last year. what model? have you tried the apple shop?
    expect to pay over £100

  • yeah, up to £130. fucking nightmare. i use it for my work and school so i can't be without it.

iPad 3. got from selfridges and they're not picking up. heard they don't replace, but take the knackered one off you and give a discount. it's a 64GB WIFI so i doubt i'm going to get a new one for £100!

looking at these two places as i can drop off and pick up same day:

  • yeah apple don't repair. "one option... take it to a repair place"

  • nice. im not confident enough to DIY

It will probably be cheaper if you buy the screen online and a repair shop will charge you £20-£35 to replace it

  • shit. i should have asked that.
just had it done for £120. it's so essential i think i stopped thinking.
apple exchange the model you have (iPad 3 at least) with a new one for £250.

  • from april 2012: http://www.theverge.com/2012/4/10/2925937/best-stylus-ipad-review

i went with the Kensington, use one of these on the smart cover and the Notability app.

6 others on my course now do the same!

  • ^^would have thought a large part of the cost would be labour - the repair job isn't exactly straight forward - http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Installing+iPad+3+Wi-Fi+Front+Panel+Assembly/11104/1

Apple need to stop glueing shit together.

  • i replaced my ipod touch 4th gen screen, so much glue was used i ended up ripping one of the ribbon cables whilst prying the old screen away from the circuit board which turned out to be the volume/power controls, only £2 for a replacement but i ended up doing some soldering, whilst i waited for a replacement ribbon cable i ended up painting the home button red

    time spent : 7 hours~

  • feel better

Does it work just as well as before?

  • can't tell the difference, i also had a chance to clean out all the dust and some other sticky stuff that had accumulated around the edges, it was essentially almost brand new again, having a shiny unscratched screen again is great
