I had two phones, one I cannot remember the name of, then a Wildfire, neither could not get a GPS signal, I spoke to Strava support about it and they said that some combinations of Android software and hardware were not supported.
When I went to the Play store on the handset Strava was not shown- due to the handset configuration being detected by the store.
I got another phone- as Hippy points out, a lot of handsets do work.
