In Malta they will accept an English driving licence with no questions asked.
In the UK a Maltese driving licence is not sufficient to drive on UK roads.
I went to have a look at the driving test centre to find out why this was- its because the entire driving test was driving round a corner marked with cones in a car park, then reversing into a box, again formed from cones.
