The correct shape of a frame is 73° parallel, square from centre to centre and with a stem that's 20% of the seat tube length. If that doesn't fit you, you're a freak.

What about handlebar length? Most compact drop are very short, shorter than in the past when they used to have long reach around 110-130mm rather than the 75-95mm of the modern variety.

I do hate the lack of room behind the hood on my compact.

Of course brakes hood were very short in the past compare to the longer "brifter".
