No .. Shimano pricing their (very late to market) carbon crank like a boutique brand and pretending it's something special .. the chainset on its own comes in at 609g + 100g for BB. All Shimano really want to do is sell Aluminium parts because of the heavy investment in tooling / research Shimano have made in production of that material at the cheapest cost possible.
