[QUOTE=Hyper Allah;3367031]
I think we've got to keep trying to engage people. Having a specific 'beginners' day should make it more accessible.
I was thinking of posting it on Birmingham cyclist, announcing on the uni bike project email list and getting friends to come down. Let's try the sunday or wednesday after march critical mass then]Have no idea when the March CM is but think this is a good idea. I think we need to set this up and advertise the f*ck out of it. If we get a good turnout we can see about regular newbie practice but I think for the time being lets focus efforts on the end of March.
I have a few bits of gas pipe knocking round the house so we could make some mallets up with cheaper heads and poles then loan them out.
Agree with wentski and Hyper that we need to get this outheir on other networks than LFGSS. As EMM said at the meeting would be good after the newbie session to have a bit of a social - even if its a couple of pints in the Dog?
I'd like one pole please.

Croatia anyone?
Croatia is awesome!

Yep, roller hockey ball vs street hockey
Uh huhuhuhuuuu.
That 97 grammer is really going to hurt. Big shot city.

The Dgel balls are the brand that Canada plays. I think the 68g not the 97g. The 68g seems too soft but might be better in the cold.

Monty, do you go to King Edwards in Kings Heath? I think the tennis courts have the potential and space to host a Birmingham Open!

a girl called Anna sent a message on Facebook to the BHBPA page saying that she would like to come and have a go. I told her that people will be at calthorpe from half 7 tomorrow depending on the weather, but suggested she come along on a Sunday instead as its generally a better turn out.

Mini Magic mallet for Rhiannon. She wants to get her bike ready so she can play. She has decorated a wheel cover.

Ok Beginners Session is going to be on Sunday 3rd of march so keep it free.
I'm going to do a couple poster/flyer designs tonight which i'll post here, then do some mail outs.Let's do another 1 day mini invitational. Mid march or early april?
-
• #2712
cool. nice work. If we get any more facebook interest, i'll point them towards the 3rd.
Did that girl show up last night?
-
• #2713
Yup. She was great. She plays ice hockey so had good mallet control and was chasing down the ball. She can't commit though, as she has training on sunday and it's uni sports night on weds.

Yup. She was great.
Possibly the best first-timer since Norwegian Steve. Actually scarily good.
I'm up for a mid-March invitational. 10-team cap again? 'B-Team/mid-skill' tournament? Regional? ABC?
-
• #2715
awesome. was Dave there to talk ice?
Shame about her inability to commit though. Move polo to Tuesdays thread>>>>>>>>>>

Not sure what other people kitchen look like on a Saturday, but ...
Bit taller then I thought it would be, but certainly has potential. I only have the one goal but if it works I would buy another.
Should I bring Sunday?

Amazing! small enough to fit into a rucksack?

The curved bits are a bit tricky, but yes.

They worked great and only took a few minutes to disassemble. The crossbar is really high, but at least that means that your bars don't get caught. Nobody can actually intentionally shoot upwards anyway, so if you manage to spray one into the top corner, then fair play.
Slightly peeved that Neil is off the hook for getting our UK Championships goals cut and painted though. 7 months and counting...

• #2724
Is lowering the crossbar as simble as shortening the uprights?
Hope to come back and play some games in my reading week! -
• #2725
yes, thats a good idea.
