most likely they are just drowning in emails and work at the moment. Mielec emails me 1-5days later usually after midnight. Most likely after like 12h workday welding or something. Kind of understandable that when you are dealing with maybe hundreds of clients sending thoudands of mails every week some might just hang in the mailbox unanswered for some time.
after waiting my low for 4 extra months in summer lacking a trackbike this few weeks in nordic winter aint biggie

^+1, plus at some point you have to separate timewasters from real buyers as well, and being so accessible doesnt do him as many favors either..

iv just finished ordering my frame and it seems i must have been quite lucky when it came to emailing because he emailed me back the same day, every day at pretty much exactly 9 o'clock on 6 occasions.
Really looking forward to getting it now, hope it doesn't take too long to get here.

This, needs SLOW// or BLOW// or FAUX// ... anything but actual LOW//
Also, what's wrong with a bit of toeverlap!?
-
• #2432
I was lucky as well, Robert emailed back within hours every time. I paid £160 for low pursuit copy, IHS, smooth welds, raw finish and lacquer. Plus that included delivery to Glasgow

I think ripping off the intellectual property or brand of an individual artisan is lame. Parody is ok, or even fun if it works, but a copy with copy decals isnt.
-
• #2434
Did you just send him the Low geometry and ask him to copy it?
-
• #2435
well copy will always be a copy
-
• #2436
I think that for everyday ciy riding a toeverlap could cause some dangerous situations, anyways, I think it's better not to have then to have it.
And just tell him you want a low copy, he can find the geometry chart himself

Aren't all of the Mielecs just cheap ripoffs? Doesn't seem to make much difference which sad fake decals one plasters on the frame.
-
• #2438
^yes but theyre 1/5-1/8 the price of the frames theyre ripping off, thats the point

Ironic? Maybe. Maybe not. Sad in any case.
I agree with both of you!!!

I'm sure LOW is pleased that you think so highly of their brand.
The marketing must have worked.

He'll only a rip off a frame if you ask him to. It's not like he's advertising his frames and copies. You can get totally custom Geo for the same price.

I'm kinda undecided on this.
on the other hand andrew makes them in a small shop and copying might be seen as copyright violation and one might consider copying a frame made by a bigger company more ok than of a smaller one.
but then again when people start copying what you've created that might be the most significant sign telling you that you've made something good.
anyways, I don't think that people who wanted a LOW// would go for a mielec copy instead since they wan't a LOW// just because of that it's a LOW//. So andrew won't be loosing money on these copies since the money directed to those by consumers would never be spent on his creations.
my 2cents

I find it kinda amusing that all this talk is focusing on LOW being copied, when they themselves are copies of the old CAD Track? I think its a bit sad sticking LOW decals on another frame, but that is really up to the user
-
• #2449
They are decals made out of tape? Obviously not a serious Knock-off LOW//
Done for a laugh non? Also fuck off with the word "Artisan", everything since 2010 has been "Artisan"

Robert probably IS drowning in mails with a thousand questions. But then thats just because the site is poor in information. I thought 1000AA said something about they used to do something else and now theyre doing bikes, it makes sense. That doesnt however mean they dont know their work and Im confident that the mash copy I ordered will be just as good as the real deal. Honestly - how much rocketscience is the actual making of the bike - once you've got the geo right? Companies like LOW and Cinelli spend money on developing and branding, so they need the higher price - but that doesnt mean their bikes are better. Its 200 euro of frames and 400 euro of branding prestige and paintjob. But the quality is all in the geo, the strength of the velds and stiffness of the material, right?
I got a mail back in around 2hrs.
