QUOTE=soapbear30;3375678]Can someone explain whats the deal on here ? regarding dibs timewise is it upto the seller ? Think I might have got robbed.
I don't see how you think you were robbed, you hadn't PM'd the seller or posted on the thread for the best part of a day so he bumped his thread to say the wheels were still available, I saw the ad contacted the seller and agreed a price before you had replied on the thread. You can't expect someone to hold something, if there's real money on the table.
If the classifieds were run to a strict system like on AVforum then everyone would know the rules and have to abide by them, saying you're interested and asking for postage quotes is not the same as saying "yes I'll take it"[/QUOTE]
I appreciate money talk first, but what I normally do in that case is I am trying to give the original dibser a reasonable deadline if I havent heard back from them - perhaps something to consider, as I actually do understand the disappointment when you dibs because you are at work or whatever, and then come home only to find out somebody else did not respect your dibs and took the item literally off your hands.
giving a deadline as a seller shows you as a fair person, and most people understand and dont have hard feelings even if they fail to respond because of some unforeseen circumstances.
