After-market crystals (or any after-market work) are fine as long as they've been installed correctly by an approved dealer or watchmaker.
And not by a bloke with a hammer...
^^ this. Nothing wrong with an aftermarket crystal as long as they're the same quality.

The after market crystals that I have seen seem to be a bit wider than the originals. They magnify well but cover a bit more of the face towards the 3 position. Am I being overly anal?
So many watches with no paperwork at all too. I have no doubts that most of the ones that I have seen are real (or mostly real) but even so...
