Expecting snow before the weekend.
Will be putting a 2.35" Ice Spiker pro on the back of this, and may add some more studs to the front after testing. As well as my lovely new pogies.
Its not the snowbike I was hoping to be on this winter. But it'll be fun none the less.

What Pogies did you settle on?
Dogwood designs. (I harassed moosemitts, but them seem to have changed their delivery policy.) Not in any way cheap. But they do look solid, and most of all, well designed.
They just fit over the extensions of the cut-H bars, and I can reach my thumbie shifter. Which I replaced with a hinged version so I could run it on the cross part of the H (wanted it out of the way of the main part of the bars). Wont be able to use the internal loop for the end of the bars because of the big sweep. But my initial feeling is that they'll be stable enough.
It may look like I've over thought this. But I dodged a bullet last winter re frostbite, and I dont mind admitting it scared me. This should help give me the confidense to climb on the saddle in the winter.

Same here in Oslo. Lick your lips after a ride and they're salty, have to give my commuter bike a hot shower once a week to stop it turning to rust-dust!

Not to my usual taste, but I still like it.

^ Quite tempted to put it in porn and start off another argument :-)
I'll leave that up to the furryfatmaster though

Super nice. But the fat bikes forum has been a porn fest of late. Someone in Sweden is making a homebrewed rigid carbon lefty fork for example. It seems to attract the curious bike pervs.
...like me ;)

Nothing wrong with a bit of versatility.

After an admittedly nice period of cold dry weather. We recieved 1/2 foot of powder last night. It'll be wet and heavy by lunch. So I had to take Mongrel II out on a somewhat extended commute first thing.
The fat front end floats nicely, and the Lefty reacts to any hidden lumps. So its amazingly chilled compared to trying to navigate a CX winter bike around. The 2.55" 29er tyre on the rear grips really well. But thats down to the dry virgin nature of the snow I reckon. I just know I'm going to be fighting it on the way home. It was an amazing cycling experiance, that I can only liken to spending a day snowboarding groomed slopes, only to find a stash of untainted powder. Suddenly the experiance is truly 3D, and theres a lovely softness to every turn.
Still smiling.

SF you're making me jealous, I'm seriously considering an on one fatty for a ramble in the woods here. Where are you in Norway that you've only got snow now? We've had decent amounts in Oslo for most of the winter until this week when started to melt. Hopefully getting some fresh stuff again this weekend so the skis can come out again!

In Aalesund mate. Its been lovely. Proper east Norway weather. Dry and cold. Not the wet mild shit we're used to.
Have you checked out Fatbikes.no they have fair amount of stuff coming in now. Plus they advertise rides, sometimes with a moonlander to loan, on their facebook page. Thought they where near Oslo everything else is.
Cant wait to get a fat rear end...........erm.
First time i saw the snow i built up my Steamroller ready to go ride in it, so fun!
then riding home from work at 4:30am, so icey...
