  • Just watched "Michael" so well done, grim viewing as so much is left out. Not sensational at all in its portrayal of a really dark subject matter.

  • I loved Travolta in that

Aye, incredible. Wouldn't watch it again tho :/

  • Watched Sightseers on Saturday. Funny, good scenery, some good one-liners, gore, and a bit of violence. Thoroughly enjoyable.

  • ^ this. I think it might have been my favourite film of 2012.

  • Bugger, look like Sightseers not in the cinema anymore.

  • Prince Charles, Ed. Saw it on Saturday.

  • Not for me no.

  • Oh of course, sorry.

  • Just watched Killer Joe.
Holy shit..... dont think im ever going to be able to eat fried chicken again.

  • Just watched this Eliot Rausch short film on channel 4, very moving.

That's weird, I've developed a real taste for it.

  • I love watching films in 3D...

    It's my favourite seat.

  • [/coat]

  • Distinctly disappointed with Django Unchained...whoever did the trailer made a silk purse out of a sow's ear

  • I quite enjoyed it. A little uncomfortable in places, but it's meant to be I suspect. Textbook Tarantino

  • Tom Cruise ruins a Lee Child book in Jack Reacher.

  • End of Watch ...
I'd give it a pass unless you love police flicks.

  • So I went to see Django the other night. I didn't think it was great to be honest. Some thoughts:

    1. It was way too long. The scenes ran and ran, often without accomplishing much. The plot was also pretty unwieldy. Past the Candieland shootout I was ready for the curtain.
    2. I knew exactly what to expect from the subject matter but it still managed to leave a bad taste in my mouth. And I'm usually the last person to say something like that. The sheer cruelty of slavery (often played for laughs) made me a bit uncomfortable.
    3. The relationship between Django and Schultz and their lives together as bounty hunters was the most interesting thing in the film. I'd have loved to see more of this and less DiCaprio and Sam Jackson hamming it up.
    4. Tarantino is the worst fucking actor in the world.
    5. The decision to use contemporary hip-hop to soundtrack certain scenes was weird, but it also made me question the director's motives a bit. You could almost imagine Tarantino saying "So... Django is one badass black motherfucker... but how do we make him more badass and more black?"

Anywho... I've rambled. On the plus side I loved Christoph Waltz (again) and I thought the film was Tarantino's funniest to date.

  • Finally watched John Dies At The End last night, fucking awesome movie! Spaced out or what?!?

    I hope there's a sequel...

Pretty much this - the music ruined it for me - so overdone - someone needs to remove 'juxtaposition' from Tarantino's thought bank
