So I got the Mavic Syncro from Condor in the end. £80 but can be found online for £70-odd.
The M size fits like a glove and the strap system's comfy. However, it has two really annoying polystyrene nubs at the front that are digging into my head. To cut/file them off or HTFU until they're pushed down by repeated wearing?
