    Either buy ⅛" sprockets, which are available but less common than 3/32" ones, or just run ⅛" chain on the thin sprockets like everybody else does.

    Cool. I'll look out for 1/8" sprockets. Didn't realize they existed. I presume that's the 'proper' way to do things ...

    Only if you ignore the 250g to 300g or so that a square taper BB weighs, not to mention the chainring and bolts. 603g sounds like the weight of bare cranks. Plenty of external BB road chainsets can be adapted to single speed duty, and they are nearly all better than Miche Primato. Using a road crank also solves the chain and sprocket problem, since you can just use the inner ring as your single chainring and run 9-speed chain on most 3/32" singlespeed sprockets, all of which saves weight.

    Fair points. I'm open to suggestions for something better ...? Sugino cranks a better option? I can't really stretch to the Campag'/Shimano alternatives. I think Primato weight may be for cranks and ring, but not BB.
