Ultremo ZX have absolutely fuck all puncture protection. Gatorskins roll pretty good and have really good puncture protection, but they wear down fairly fast and that puncture protection then disappears. Gatorskin Hardshells roll about the same as normal Gator's, but last much much longer, especially if skidding on them. GP4000's are a racing tyre, just like the Ultremo ZX, as such have little puncture protection, but have incredibly low rolling resistance. Personally I like the Ultremo R.1 for every day cycling, they also have very low rolling resistance, weigh nothing and have some puncture protection. The ZX's gave me punctures literally every ride, the R.1's it would be once every other week. But for skidding, the hardshell all day long. I had a Maxxis Refuse and it tore across its width after about 1 mile of use so I chucked it and haven't used one since.
