As a honkey I won't weigh in on the race implications of Oprah's media empire, but I will say I find her programme and almost all associated media completely intolerable to consume.

I like her book club though. How could I front on an initiative which encourages people to read, especially when they seem to be out of the self-education loop and she tries to get them to read Faulkner and other Actual Authors.

To be fair the IOC said it would await the outcome of the UCI's decision.
Armstrong's window to appeal against the stripping of his titles by the UCI has lapsed hence today's announcment.

Basically they are looking to recover the $30 odd millions dollars of sponsorship money paid to Tailwind Sports and if they do, Landis will get a significant chunk of it.
