Livestrong.org is an "cancer awareness raising" organisation, not cancer research.
I think the only clinical facility with Livestrong branding is in Australia and they had to pay a fee to someone (no-one has been able to find out who) to use it. Livestrong didn't pay a penny towards it but it makes it looks like they did.

The Flinders Medical Centre Foundation formed an association with LIVESTRONG in January 2009. The association sees a laboratory in the new Flinders Centre for Innovation in Cancer Centre named after LIVESTRONG. This alignment was struck between two charitable bodies that seek only to raise funds for cancer research and cancer prevention as well as to raise awareness about the needs of the 28 million people diagnosed with cancer around the world. At no time has there been any money exchanged between the parties, nor on behalf of the FMC Foundation by any other party.
LIVESTRONG’s Cancer Survivorship Program is among the best, if not the best in the world, and is benefiting cancer patients worldwide.”
Lots of advertising spend particularly on Livestrong.com who is part owned by LA.
See upthread for more charitable funding being recycled to the commercial side like the jet, and the .org legal fees suddenly rocketing in any year LA had a bit of trouble.
