which model is it???
-

Me likey!
Needs hood on left hand side of bars though for climbing/my ocd compliance. -
• #4
^^Can't remember, it was a close replica of the ones issued to the endurance riders at Beijing, but I went for the aero forks drilled for road use.
^ No it doesn't need another lever (except for OCD reasons), for 10% climbs on 48/15 you hang onto the bottoms and wrench!

Fair enough, it's just my personal preference, I happen to like riding on the hoods.
It's still rad. -

I'd prefer to see two levers as well.
Apart from that, I think it's a brilliant build. You'll have to wait a bit longer for your chorus of raspberries

Dunno, I'm sure it'll happen, the bar angle is probably out by 0.23 degrees or something, I've seen some very good bikes ripped apart on here!
At least this one has pedals and has been built to be used, not just hung on someone's wall........

Obligatory #slamdatstem comment? Lovely build either way.

Climbing in the hoods > Climbing in the drops
Cool bike! Especially the wheels ofc

^ All this.
No reason why not, otherwise it'd be pretty strange to brake from the hood where there's nothing for your left hand to grasp.

The Great Brake Debate! It's just personal preference, we are all correct and can bathe in a warm glow of rightness. I'd normally be on the drops when expecting to brake, generally on the 10% descent or when giving it some welly, so no left lever = no problem. I've ridden like this for an embarrassing number of years.
I know I should (obligatory) slamdatstem, I shall inform my nearest chiropractor/osteopath/psychopath/cyclepath, it is wrong of me to choose bikefit over fashion and I know it.... In fact, I would like to see X-rays of everyone using slammed track stems and keirin bars, I envy them their spines which must be like bendy toys. Either that, or they ride with straight arms thus providing the aerodynamic advantage of a housebrick!

very nice. i too would rather have comfort rather than slammage

You ruined the fun :(
And I agree re: not slamming your stem, ride it how it's supposed to fit. (EDIT: but this would not be LFGSS without someone saying it kudos njclee)
Do you know how much it weighs? Must be very light?

Give how the handlebar is shaped, slammage is achievable with compact drop.

^Simple question, why, it already fits me and I don't want compacts, my hands are like a bunch of bananas (except not yellow, well, not often).
Kudos indeed to njclee, whose tongue was wedged firmly in cheek I suspect.
I don't know what it weighs and my scales are not accurate, they keep saying I'm 76kg. I'm happy with 'light', I'll let you know if I weigh it!

Just like to say I had the pleasure of seeing this in the flesh and picking it up!!!! It's nonsensically light,I'm now depressed with my Argos 753 TT build that seems damn heavy......

The track bars just this second turned up, ready for LFGSS track day in May. Can bung them on and take pics tomorrow if you represent public demand, Indra! Have just ordered scales, so some time next week I can satisfy weight weenies curiosity.....

Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes.
I may have to turn up to the track day just to see this, and compare it to my carbon Dolan, when it's built. -

+1 for moar pics, love this build
Ok, so here's one I built yesterday.....
I have had the 56 square Carbon Dolan (Beijing era) from new and the idea was to create something slim, sleek and ridiculously fast for the Summer, if it ever happens. Sod comfort, this is about speed! Yes, they're tubs and wildly impractical, but some bikes should be fun! If anyone hates the brake, tough, I live at the top of a mile or so of 10% and skidding tubs is a bad idea.... Oh, if I get the chance, 3 bolts and a change of bars and it's track-ready.
It feels a bit of a cheat putting this up for your chorus of raspberries as I already had most of the parts. The wheels and chainset are from my fixed TT frame (sold to Dakin, hope to see it on here soon), the bars and stem were filched from my road bike and were replaced with something even nicer and the brake and lever are from the parts bin. The saddle was £30 from a nice Chinese man and on the basis of a one hour ride is surprisingly comfortable.
I did polish the alloy bits quite a lot, what are dark evenings for anyway? It gave me an excuse to ignore the turbo!
