A quick look on ebay didn't yield much: new prices are higher than you want to pay so it might be worth looking at other makes / hunting down reviews until something turns up? http://www.scandig.com/ carries quite a range of current models, often with reviews, and http://www.amateurphotographer.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?99590-Plustek-film-scanners mentions several alternatives but none of them look cheap...
edit: -and wblati (http://www.lfgss.com/member3528.html) has sold several scanners amongst other things photographic - a PM might yield a result?
