Soo, I haven't worn a watch since I was about 15, don't really feel comfortable with any form of jewelry or stuff on my wrists in general but recently come to the conclusion I kinda want to wear a watch again, mostly just for formal occasions and partly cos I want an excuse to get summat knocked up by 31trum but have no need of wallet/belt/electronic toy case.
Any recommendations for a sub-£100(excluding strap if needs be) clean and simple watch. Don't really know or care the difference between mechanisms, don't dig multiple dials, spinny bezals or any of the rest of that jazz. Just something basic that won't need money dropped on it regularly for servicing etc.
Can't sort anything immediately as the tax man needs to be sated first but will be looking more seriously in a couple of months if anyone wants to offload anything on me.
Will now sit down and read this thread start to finish and no doubt come to the conclusion that I need some rare eastern block unobtainium that'll cripple my accounts.
It really depends on what you want out of it...
Whilst not the prettiest watch (imo), this kind of thing is pretty set and forget:
Seiko SNE097P1
Solar powered and quartz so reliable time with a large enough lug width to suit something Murts would knock up. Plus you can usually find it for about £80 all in.
