Looper tonight.
5 minutes in, my first reaction is wtf have they done to Joseph Gordon-Levittt's face? Then I realised they are trying to make him look like a young Bruce Willis ... -

I liked Gangster Squad, its was predictable but decent.
Ryan Gosling was so cool, but thats standard from a lad like him.
Man Crush 101.

Looper tonight.

Watched Iron Lord(Russian medieval epic) and Hero this evening.
Seen Hero a million times but still full of win, Iron Lord was fucking fantastic, def worth seeking out. -

Anyone know why Odeon are showing films in 16:9? Life of Pi and Avengers are recent examples.
FFS, if I wanted to see films in 16:9 I'd watch them in the comfort of my own house.

Red State - Holy shit!

I completely forgot I saw Red State, or that it was even a film, until that post.
I can't recall my initial reaction, but my long term reaction may be telling.

Guy who plays the preacher is a stone cold fucking nutcase. Great actor whoever he is.

My reaction is that religion/gun law has a lot to answer for.
Halfway through, just had main gun battle. Some crazy heavenly trumpets are going down at the moment.Oh yeah!
Meh.
(I should watch it again).

Thought this through and realised why I loved it is because it's very realistic, in term of how people actually live, unlike those Devil Wear Prada assistant who lived in a very nice flats in New York on assistant salary...

The problem is that nowadays its cool to dislike Tarantino
Agree with your post (aside from the Django stuff, haven't actually watched it yet) but I couldn't agree more on that point ^.

anyone seen the new Bourne film?!
Decent, nothing really to actually link it to the Bourne trilogy, it's jut another action flick. Pretty good though, i'll happily sit through anything with Rachel Weisz and/or Jeremy Renner.

The main thing I can always remember is the Mini (not MINI, thank christ) chase scene. Which was one of the best car chases of the last decade.

Madness. Utter, utter madness

Hitchcock... Cute but very, very muddled...
-
• #7272
To be fair the pacing of the first Bourne film is sloooooow. It took me about 3 sittings to get through it. I suggest you make yourself watch the other two and then re-watch the first again

I'm currently sat watching the remake of Total Recall...
-
• #7274
That fact that you're currently posting here says a lot about the film.
