  • Sale (and free tyre levers) making me buy things I don't really need and can't really afford...

It is nice, though. Lovely even. And slightly less pricey.

Incidentally my bike, jersey, shoes and helmet now all have Italian stripes on them. This scares me a bit.

  • Fuck's sake.

Snap! Except I got to use my xmas vouchers, glad I waited for the sale; Now I can afford some special Rapha-pants as well, or is wool underwear a bit too far?

  • Tempted to buy the softshell trousers. Does anyone have any?

  • My Rapha sale stuff just shipped. Impressive for their usually slightly tardy dispatch team (sorry)

    #excited

  • Tempted to buy the softshell trousers. Does anyone have any?

    I haz.. I like.

  • ^^Scoot just got slated!

^hmm very tempted. Are they ever too hot? or nice and breeeeeeeeezy?

  • I think Hoefla is selling some softshell swrves - blasphemy in this thread I know, but I like mine

  • I think they would be a bit small!?

  • Swrve are just as good and even new quite a lot cheaper. Unclear why anyone would buy Rapha trousers.

  • They are hot.. Very hot. But I usually roll them up which seems to moderate overheating.

  • Actually I just realised they are in the sale so the same price as Swrve, so I guess it's a toss up.

My Swrve WWR trousers don't overheat as they're thinner and I've never been cold once.

  • If you've got real cyclists legs (or fat thighs, like me) you may struggle with the rapha cut on their trousers. I had a disappointing evening in the rapha store when I realised none of them fit me, even though I was keen to throw money at them. sadface.

  • You need to get the rest of your body in proportion.

  • Well then I won't be buying them, just want them as I really, really hate cycling in jeans but want to stop wearing shorts all the time.

  • You need to get the rest of your body in proportion.

my waist is on the way there.

  • Is that the same problem with the city trousers? I want them in beige so i can finally cycle in comfortable chino esque trousers

  • i find the city trousers are fine, and you are no more chunky than me

  • I tried all the rapha trousers they had in stock, under james's expert guidance, and left empty handed. :(

  • Will they really fit my Greipel legs?

  • My problem is my super skinny ankles which make any trouser which isn't tapered look like a pair of bell bottoms

  • I was going to photoshop your face onto an unflattering google image search result for bell bottom trousers, but it's hometime, so I won't.

  • brave thats my problem with my levi commuters, baggy ankles.

  • I think they would be a bit small!?

They are the cotton ones. Sorry my bad. I think they may be a bit big 32'' waist - which is what mine are and you must be smaller than that..right?

I really like my swrve trousers, I'd buy some Outliers but for the uber prohibitive price, which is what make Swrve such an appeal.

  • love it or hate it, posh or what, once you have worn merino wool everything else comes 2nd

  • or they could really be incredibly passionate, spend enormous amounts of time attempting to make the best jersey, jacket etc, so we want to wear it, so we go out cycling more often .. or am I being too sentimental?
