I Think I'll Continue using tyres within the range of widths recommended by the rim manufacturer. And keep them pumped up to the max pressure recommended by the tyre manufacturer. I know it's not very adventurous but since doing this I've never had a pinch puncture and never experienced tyre squirm!!
