Walking down Karl-Marx-Allee from Alexanderplatz to Frankfurter Tor is brilliant if you're into Cold War architecture. It was the GDR attempt at building a grand boulevard, and though it's fading a little now, it's still really imposing. Halfway along there's a small museum to it in a cafe, and also a computer game museum which my friend visited and enjoyed.
Berlin is a mecca for vegetarians, there are tons of vegetarian cafes and restaurants, and most others are veggie friendly. I have a big list somewhere I'll try and dig out.
