Flat denim doesn't compress much so that won't soften barspin impacts.

foam pipe insulation underneath as long as its not bulky

Foam gets squished over time, and stays squished.
just thought, why not just use some worn out grips? rubber would be ideal, cut and inch off, wrap it around and a bit of pvc tape, sorted

I used an off cut of Lizard Skin bartape with electrical tape over the top.

I used a long strip of innertube wrapped round several times and finished with tape. About an inch and a half wide... Looks semi pro.

When the bars on my Bob are turned to the right, the front brake contacts the downtube before the bars hit the top tube. I should probably just wrap the whole frame in inner tubes.

snip
Scratch that...Thought you were talking about padding the handlebars -
• #70895
Or tape up the handlebar.
It's taped with benotto, you can definitely still dent the tt with taped bars!

Simple
Because classic steel track frames are worth it, non? -
• #70897
Not when they cost about £40 and a roll of leccy tape cost £1
-
• #70898
Let me know when they start making them for modern frames.

Doesn't work for some of us, but couple of layers of helicopter tape does
