Anyone got any Shamal / Zonda / FIR clincher 700c rims?
This is going to be one slow build.

Does anyone own or has anyone ridden a Focus road bike?
Specifically Cayo Evo -

Speak to Ryan at Oak cycles, I am sure he could create something for you.
He can, he'll create a stem for me with decaluer and cable holder on it.
Price is TBC, but definitely over a hundred.

Specifically Cayo EvoI had an '09 Cayo. Pretty good, and stiff, but I think better/lighter forks would have improved it. The Izalcos use(d) 3T Funda forks, I think, don't know about the Evo. It looks a very different frame to the one I had.

What's wrong with that? The final saddle choice will be made when the bike it's finished.
Nothing, as long as it suits the rider or if you like it in any other way.
Just curious. -

^ which frame and fork?

Has anyone got any experience with using STIs on mustache bars? Or on-one Mungos?
-

It been done before, it work but it's very much a marmite.
I can only speculate how it'll feel, which would be quite like this;

That really is exceptionally beautiful.

When I shift from the little to big ring, the chain mounts the top of the teeth for half a rotation.
Any ideas how to solve this?
Using Ultegra 6500 kit.
-
• #70868
That has happned to me with a stretched chain or worn teeth, or just tweaking the position of the front mech may help.
maybe one chainring is the wrong way around being off to one side, its only like 1mm or 0.5mm but may be a problem

Those are Mungos on that, I wanted to give Moustache bars a try and these are cheaper than the rest.
Not sure how STIs would work, it's not a very natural movement for shifting, is it? Bar ends all the way!

anyone tried making one of these....http://www.tokyofixedgear.com/eCommImages/2/0010000002638.jpg
Ryan kindly donated a bit of tubing but I am unsure where to start...
-
• #70871
Cut the tubing in half, wrap some leccy tape round your frame where you want the tt protector, put the two pieces around your tt over the tape then leccy tape over that
(least that's what i'd do but i have horrible looking bike)
-
• #70872
Always planned to cut up an old tyre and tape that around the top tube, never needed one though, could move it without to much trouble as well.
-
• #70873
A bit of bartape does the job too.
-
• #70875
Or tape up the handlebar.
I build me some lightish disc(fixed)/free wheels for the pimpetamine/crosseur project.
I wanted them as light as possible when running fixed, but with the option of putting a ffreewheel on eventually.
older model (lighter) stans arch
+
dt swiss revolution in very various lengths with 12 brass nipples
+
because trials hubs actually lighter than the spokes...!
