The newer type are probably not vulnerable to the Velocio screwdriver attack (TM). Sure, not as good as Atomic 22s, but I don't think "that bad" (whatever that's worth). As with all security measures, it depends on how much you're willing to spend, where/how long you leave your bike, and how upset you'd be if whatever it was got stolen. As a deterrent to stripping parts off a 'normal range' bike, if you lock up next to less-secure bikes, it's "not bad".
