I love it when questions can be answered pictorially!
Omanoms are on evil bay
Meanwhile I have bought some campag pistas using overdraft! Natwest are great guys. -
• #54
They may not be as stiff but man they will look great.
What era Campag?
I would've thought omniums would sell in a flash here if you want to avaoid t'bay, always in demand...
-
• #55
Can't make money on them that way though
-
• #56
Get money, ride fixies.
-
• #57
Yeah basically it had to be eBay because I needed to make enough to cover the campag ones I bought :/
I'm a terrible person sometimes

Also
The headbadge I have is this
http://www.swinnertoncycles.co.uk/components-c169/frames-c223/spares-c227/swinnerton-cycles-renovation-trasnfer-headtube-only-p28447It says varnish fix, and from reading around this requires painting gold size on it, leaving it for a bit to go tacky then using a damp sponge to remove the backing paper.
Anyone have experience of doing this?

Brick Lane Bikes the shop?!
was not aware they did that kind of thing. I just assumed they'd not realised what they were worth due to em being all scuffed n shit
-
• #63
people who've had their wheels nicked have found them for sale in BLB the very next day.
and 00's of other stories......
-
• #64
Shan't be frequenting them again then- they're usually really rude anyway
-
• #65
outrageously complicated decal fitted (slightly off centre) using Gold Size and a great deal of patience!
And finished....
Now to paint the lug windows....
-
• #66
I'm sorry, but are you sure it's straight on?
-
• #67
Nah it's slightly off but varnish-fix decals are a one time deal- so it's close enough!/ will have to do
-
• #68
ah nevermind, didn't read good enough. I do like the new headbadge :) Matches the paint haha.
-
• #69
Cheers buddy, I'm doing the pantographing on the lugs as we speak.....wish me luck :s
-
• #70
Did you plann on matching the paint and check the badge colours first, hence the different coloured headtube, or was it just a happy coincidence?
Its looking very nice already though, looking forward to see how the full build turns out.
-
• #71
I was a bit stuck when choosing colours so I looked at the headbadge for inspiration- plus I think gold suits a 70s frame.
This is as far as I've done panto-wise -
Thinking of doing the side cut outs (blank in the picture) in the same red as the head badge?
Hopefully it will be matchy in a classy way as opposed to a 'fixie-style' colour abomination.
-
• #72
I wouldn't do them red, but black.
-
• #74
Yeah I am torn, just thought it might tie the headbadge in more and avoid there being too much black what with the head tube...#firstworldproblems

Can't you get a BB with a longer spindle and keep those cranks?
