  • Really gutted to hear this appalling story... the law of the land protects kids from any serious deterent from doing this kind of thing... I am coming to the conclusion of don't cycle around with an expensive bike as it will sooner or later be targeted and eventually become someone elses possession with very little help from the police... Gutted for you... :-(

    In late summer I had my Colnago c40 stole from outside a pub in Islington. Locked it up with a very expensive lock. Came out the pub after a quick pint to find bits of carbon fibre every where, intact lock and Cosmic Carbon wheel cut in half!
    Later forks were on E bay sure they were mine because of some wheel rub on forks and correct size etc. Rang police not interested. Played with idea of collecting them my self and confronting buyer but have kids so not worth the risk. Think the lesson here is don't lock your expensive bike (especially a carbon one) in london.
