  • Is that a euphemism?

If you want it to be? :) ( I've been drinking Belgian beer since early bells, Merry crimbo fellow on one forumers, indeed all forumgungers.)

  • Pompino/Pompetamine/Macinato frames from £99.99 today at http://www.on-one.co.uk/c/q/frames, you may need voucher code UKSTEELFRAMES

  • Id like an inbred 26er but they dont have v brake mounts anymore, not so sure on discs as budget is lowww

Which is the price they were at for about 6 months until they shot up for a week and then went back down to about £120 in the 'sale'.

  • Every years its the same old story.

  • Am thinking of putting some SKS guards on my pomp, but remember hearing that the rear one might need to be drilled to fit the mount on the pomp frame. Is that correct? Is it absolutely necessary as I don't have the necessary equipment.

  • Doubt it, I fit the one on my dad's without any problem, the Pomp come all the necessary mounts*.

*unless the recent model don't have them.

  • If you want you can drill the mudguard so it fastens to the wishbone, its not essential but does reduce rattle a good bit.

  • Had to drill mine to fit my Pompetamine. Can't see how you would fit it without drilling.

  • Mine came pre drilled, which was nice. 35mm cross tyres are a tight fit under the p35's. I realise its a cheap and cheery hack, but I'd really have liked those nice inserts at the rear dropouts. They appeal to my OCD re no marks on the paint. Je deteste.

  • Mudguards were already drilled? Inserts?

  • Inserts?

He's thinking of the steel inserts you get in alloy track ends, to stop them chewing up. What the Pomps actually need is stainless steel track ends.

  • Mine came pre drilled, which was nice. 35mm cross tyres are a tight fit under the p35's.

I am modestly impressed you managed to fit 35c cross tyres on a mudguard designed for a max size of 28c, the 25c was a little on the snug life on my bike.

  • The wishbone was drilled. Mines a Pompino, perhaps the Pompetamine is different.

Stainless steel track ends would be great.

  • Yeah, they all have a threaded hole in the end of the wishbone, i think. Think chris0 was on about drilling the mudguard.

  • Ah, my bad.

  • I have SKS Chromoplastics (700x35-38) on my Pompino along with 700x35 World Tours. Fit nae bother.

  • That P45 is the perfect fit.

  • I found 35mm Bluemels to be the perfect fit with 32mm tyres.
think the Bluemels look and fit better than Chromoplastics, on most bikes.

  • Nice build, I like the blue.

  • Nice build, I like the blue.

Agreed. Those bluemels are nice. Is that a pompetamine? What with the disc and all?

  • Cheers and yeah, it's a Pompetamine

  • Was going to get a BMW Gangsta but the seller pulled out. I am now going to buy a Pomp instead! I am very excited. Just speccing one up now.

  • ^not tempted to go inbred?

  • Mans be wanting something like this:

    Not this:

Pomp was the backup plan if the BMW didn't go through. A blessing in disguise maybe, as this bike is gonna be rad!
