I'm looking to get some nike pegasus (had gait looked at, etc) as an first shoe into longer running (more than 5k but probably not marathon mileage). I was wondering whether to go for the shield or regular version. anyone recommend one over the other??
Gait analysis is overrated.
Spend some time running in flat shoes before you decide you need an inch of cushioning and loads of heel to toe drop. Often it can cause much more problems than it fixes.
