The genius bit will be the little Inov8 gators I'm getting too.
My current GTX Roclites have a little hole in the toe. When its fecking cold out, and my feet are happy in gortex shoes, and merino socks, I get an occasional cold shock to my toes....sadface
Definitly think 9 studs will be a good compromise. Having done endless miles both on the bike, and running, with the maximum number of studs. I'm coming to the conclusion that having just enough to stop sudden slippage is all I need. kinda like a pair of MTB tyres that you've grown to love, not because of ultimate traction, but because the wash out is predicable.
Did 8km in a blizzard last night. Wasnt as much fun as it should have been. But the post run chilled Xmas beer in front of the fireplace was awsome.
