From reading that article it was a considerable effort to get the prevailing/official view of the 2nd amendment away from Militia to the individual.
You think that that was driven by a larger movement/desire for greater personal liberty? That it was essentially a symptom of a greater whole?
I just wonder why liberty and firearms seem so entwined- I agree that almost all the rhetoric coming from the states suggests that there is a 1:1 ratio between freedom and handguns.
