I am going to get on it. Though my brakes work well, i am going to shorten the straddle wire on my Barron's Shimano 600 cantis, see if improves stopping power......
I am going to hunt down some link cables asap.
though the article suggests the main issue was with knobbly tyres and the straddle wire snagging on the raised tread?
but to be honest, I would rather not take any risks riding fast on london's roads, cars forgive a lot less than trees.
I'm guessing, I would also need a link cable for my tandem? At the very least lengthen main cable and shorten the straddle wire? They are Shimano AT50 cantilevers........or maybe get some frogglegs??
And as regards V-brakes, for me its mostly aesthetic and find they work really well (and i have not even set them up correctly!).
I use mine in the city, so have no real issues with excess mud and clogging.....but i would like to know other reasons.......
