Got the Hardshell in Red a couple weeks ago, thanks to decent weather and coincidence this will be the first day I've used it in proper rain.
Felt a bit guilty getting some so expensive just before Xmas, Was tempted to get the rain jacket instead but it has kept me warm so far without feeling like i was in a sauna.

thats even more ridiculous
To me the most ridiculous bit is the £1.25 postage. You're asking £100 for a coffee cup, at least chuck in the postage

Ha! Ive become disillusioned with Rapha kit. I would defend anyone's right to buy it should they wish to but its just a bit too much now.
I had resisted for a long time then I folded and started buying the odd bit here and there, before you know it Im succumbing to the sufferporn and looking on ebay for the long sleeve brevet jersey, justifying it by saying, its only £200.00!
No more, Ive sold off a few bits (which holds its value presumably for the reasons alluded to above) Im going to say I don't think the quality is any great shakes. Perfectly serviceable but at the premium they charge,.. no. Its not good enough certainly not good enough to justify those prices.
The spamming they do is fairly relentless too.
In essence, its nice but a bit pricey.

I wore my softshell on my mountain bike yesterday, to pick up my van from my parents, following my dad's funeral.
25 miles off road, with a monster hangover, feeling mud splash my £240 fucking coat.....now THAT was suffering.

Still just a jersey though. 200 quid is "a very very good jacket" amount of money

Just plop it in the washing machine and gang it up to dry.

If you're really scared about waterproofing, use Rapha Apparel wash and then Rapha re-proofer. If that doesn't work then surely that's between 1 and 3 defective Rapha products.

Bought the base layer recently and absolutely love it. I normally just wear a tshirt and jersey which can be a little too cold sometimes but the base layer is perfect for keeping the heat in. Not cheap like...

Would you perhaps say nice... But pricey?

^^ I love the casual use of the word "Fixie" at the end of the listing title.
He knows his audience.
I was just thinking: What a bellend. As though I'd read FIXIE and be swayed.

Finally succomed to the Rapha hype and bought pair of pro team bib shorts(to match my newly acquired retro steed) yes I know bit indulgent but do some long rides and used assos/endura/solo/various club shorts over the years so figured gotta be worth a punt .. Got them bit cheaper too and first impressions are good.. Quality is easily on
Par with my mid range assos s5 and as comfy .. -

I just received a Christmas present from Rapha, signed by Laura, but a forumenger phoned me yesterday for my address, so possibly from him too. No idea who thought of sending me something.
Anyhow... it's a Rapha Race Notes book.
And to be honest... I would never have thought of buying this. Never have thought it worth anything to me.
But it's actually quite beautiful with gorgeous light pink thin paper with a grid on it. A bit like mathematical paper printed on the FT.
And it's also really well bound, with a supple and thin leather cover, and lovely details on the edge of the paper, with the ribbon page keeper, and with the different paper for the photo papers.
In short... it's lush. And actually now I think I would buy these in future... it's a delightful book.
Do I race? No.
Will I write ride reports in them? Unlikely. But it's a freaking nice alternative to a Moleskin for notes and ideas, for quick architectural (technology) sketches and algorithm design. I'm really glad it's a grid mathematical layout.
So this book is going to go to San Francisco with me, be my tool for all of the meetings I attend, VCs and tech people I see.
I'm quite delighted... and not least because aside from a secret santa from my friends this is actually the only other present I'm likely to receive at all from anyone (my girl and I are too broke to even buy each other anything).
So whoever at Rapha thought of sending me something, thank you... it's surprisingly touching.
I also have that.
