  • mirius, how's your roamer devotion/collection going at present, any new additions?

It's been going through phases and at the moment I'm deep in investigating the early cylinder movements. I have a lot of new watches, but I'm not sure that most of them would be of any interest to anyone here. I'm excited for example that I've now have (or will have when it arrives) proof that a suspected calibre is indeed a previously unknown one.

I had thought 1919 was when the switch from pin set to crown set happened, but this recent purchase shows that it was 1920, at least on the Cal 59's.

Flickr proved to be too much hard work, so I was also forced to do a rough and ready site to easily compare the calibres. One day I might look into what would be necessary to allow the spiders to explore it so that it actually appears in search results.

On a non Meyer & Studeli note, I did splash out rather too much money on this recently which might be of interest to some. It's just going off today for a service and investigation to see if it can be put back into running order. For me it's a nice union of two collecting interests - pre 1930 watches and bumpers
