  • I've just created a FB account - under an assumed name - but that link doesn't seem to take me there. Thanks.

  • I believe you need to be a friend of one of steffs friends. Pm me your assumed name (is it wiganwill?) and i will befriend you

You'd need to be invited to the event and therefore need to befriend someone who's invited already.

  • This has been resolved.

  • Is anyone riding there tomorrow? I will probably brompton some of the way weather dependant (forecast is rain) and am wondering whether there will be someone I can lock to, as I dont expect to be able to take the brompton inside..

  • You can put it in my boot- I'm driving over with Jimbilly.

  • Awesome, thanks Neil.

  • Didn't know Steff but saddened to hear about such a loved person isn't around anymore.

    RIP fellow rider

  • I thought it was an excellent and moving service. I'm glad the forum was well represented too. RIP Steff.

  • February 6th, being the closest to Steff's birthday, will be a special Easts back at the Royal Inn on the Park for one week only, in his memory.

  • Nice one.

    In.

  • Best idea of the day. I am assuming we are required to bring an item of military hardware?

The voice of Easts has spoken. Glad you're doing this.

  • C'mon eggpie, like you aren't always strapped anyway.

Yeah, I'm in for Easts Birthday drinks.

Was beautiful listening to all his tales yesterday. He was truly a remarkable human being.

  • Greetings folks,

I happened to be In Brixton Cycles yesterday and saw Digger and Jim who had been at the funeral earlier.
My thoughts go out to his family and friends. I understand that he had a girlfriend who is obviously distraught. I know this will happen any way
but please can his friends check for the girlfriend and keep her on the straight and narrow....

This is a time of year when we are supposed to check on other people. Please remember to do so and stop any one vulnerable from slipping through the cracks.

Hang on to life - it is all we have....

Thanks and peace and love to one and all,
    Tim

  • Fuck..I just heard. I'm gutted.

For someone I have never arranged to meet but hung out with on soo many occasions over the years drinking the night away. One of the nicest guys I've chatted to about random shit it didn't matter..rides, pub, street corner he even would help out at tourneys..he was part my London bike world.

    RIP my friend

Glad to hear this, and that people are better than me / have better phones! I took time off work to come yesterday, used some facebook link I found and my bloody phone sent me miles away from the real place!! I arrived at Mill Hill cemetry, asked my way to a woman there and she said I was the other side of town basically, then my 3G would not work anymore!! I spent hours cycling around north London, completely lost (I've got terrible sense of directions...), and it was so bloody hilly too!!
Gutted I could not attend the service, but I ended up cycling all morning, and I've decided it was probably how it was supposed to be, and was definetely in the right spirit!

    RIP Steff.

  • Same here, Loic. There was a wrong link for a while yesterday morning. I also turned up at Mill Hill, but luckily was an hour early.
