"rad cruise" sums it up basically.
some of those spots were so cool, saw a very different London tonight... megarep to Dropout for the route.
at times felt like it was toe-overlap training!
most importantly, +1 to dimi3 for surviving the crash, leaving hospital and hitting up the pub straight away, like a true HTFU professor.
Dimi crashed? When was this?
-
• #179
I think it was before the ride, which is why he met us late at Tron, maybe?
-
• #180
Ah.
Given that degree of HTFU, and looking at the list, maybe we should name and shame the no shows :-) -

Dimi3...the epitome of HTFU.

I was in the pub with Dimi before I came to the start of the ride. Didn't think he was planning to come along!

Dimi may have crashed but he did the most amazing skid ever in that shopping precinct near Victoria. Absolutely priceless.
Thanks to John for a great ride and for out-tinselling me. Apologies to anyone who heard my (frankly, shit) rendition of Little Donkey. Thanks to everyone for being great company - see you all next year!

Oh, and the food at the end was good. Perhaps talking about norovirus over food wasn't quite so good. Let's just say that I didn't enjoy seeing my dinner the 2nd time when I got home.

Thanks for John for organising and thanks to everyone else for being awesome. Really enjoyed it.
After that group of us left while the rest were in the restaurant, we went along euston road, Dimi was in front of us, then we stopped at the McDonalds, assuming he had sped on ahead to the pub. Dom got a call from him, he was found in the road unconscious by a police officer and was taken to an ambulance outside the station. No damage the the bike, a small cut on the back of his head and a rip on the back of his jacket, and no memory of how it happened.
It was good to meet Jayson, Robadob and the Brazilian guy who I've maged to forget the name of.

Ah.
Given that degree of HTFU, and looking at the list, maybe we should name and shame the no shows :-)There's no shame like the unspoken shame, let them scour their eyes to the floor......... We all had an amazing night, a superbly sociable ride through the Streets, those that missed it, well, they missed it. Simples.
rep for Dimi3 btw

Great ride, wonderfully well-organised by Dropout. I was a bit rubbish at meeting new people as there were so many 'old' people to catch up with. Lots of Christmas lights locations I hadn't seen before. I bailed just before the canal path just because of the time, as I wanted to see a film in Dalston. Glad Dimi's OK. Otherwise, not a single mechanical or other enforced stops. Well done, everybody!
Unusually for a forum ride, I didn't get the impression that there were that many no-shows--there must have been at least 40-odd at the start?
-
• #195
Oh yes, and it wasn't just one group of people dressed as Father Christmas but about fifteen, all over the centre. Has anyone found out if it was a charity thing or is it just people being unoriginal?
There are lots of 'Santa dashes' but there doesn't seem to have been one in London yesterday.

Apparently there was some flash mob thingy in Trafalgar Square earlier in the evening...... so maybe organised lack of originality?
-
• #197
Ah, a flash mob would explain it. They were mostly in the area around Trafalgar Square.

That's about right, just before we headed right toward Leicester Square, with a PoPo escort. Made me chuckle.

I think it was something called SantaCon. A friend of mine was at it. Drunk, crying Santa's for the win.
We did end up with a mechanical on the way back from the thai place to South London. Martin, who was riding fixed for the first time (rep) had a very loose crank so basically rode home one legged. Good htfu points there.
Ahhh man, what happened ? hope Dimi is ok, good to meet u guys btw, I should have come to the pub, oh well lesson learnt for next time
