  • I'm with Dammit on that one .. You have to respect Cannondale's mainstream achievements with Aluminium and lately Carbon, even if you don't partake in the foolish or excessive adulation of the Cannondale track that most of the fixed gear community does ..

    Fair enough, but I hate them. Not really sure why, but I really do. I guess it's what makes the world an interesting place, we're all different.

    What I will say though is that if you believe everything the mags say on their product reviews, more fool you. Having worked for a bike manufacturer for several years I know from experience that review results are more based on advertising spend and whether you expect the bike back again after testing than the limited hours they actually spend testing the kit. Basically they can't afford to upset their advertisers as that's where the money is, not in the cover price. Obviously they don't intentionally mislead their customers, but...

    And call me cynical if you like, but the pro teams will use and endorse the bikes of the highest bidding manufacturer. I'm sure there's a fag paper between most manufacturer's flagship bikes in quantifiable performance terms after all.
