This morning on my way west along Southwark street towards the south side of blackfriars bridge I overtook a lady pootling along on her town bike. As I approach the junction, there is a big ass hgv in front queuing at the traffic lights which have just gone green. This is a 4 way intersection. I roll up behind the truck in the middle of the lane like any sane person would do. Then
Lady proceeds to pass me on the left into a half metre gap, as its pulling away. She wobbles around under what must be the rather unnerving experience of having the wheels of a 30 tonne lorry accelerating inches from her face with her only hope being that the left indicator which isn't blinking has indeed not been activated because the driver intends to drive straight.
Luckily the lorry didn't turn left, but seriously, WTF is wrong with people. I swear the world is just full of fucking morons. Is it not the most obvious fucking thing in the world that at a traffic light, a big ass motherfucking lorry might want to turn left? And that your presence there will a) go unnoticed and b) very likely be the end of you? It's not ignorance, its just plain ass stupid.
I didn't say anything to her as i past her up the road, maybe I should have, but I felt that my view probably would have been met with negativity.
Christ, that really did piss me off. And to think, she has no idea how dumb her move there was. Hopefully she wont make such a move again, especially when a vehicle does decide to turn left. But that's just wishful thinking
Sigh, perhaps I should go to the rant thread.
